I’ve cracked.
Home-schooling has well and truly pushed me over the edge, and I need wine. It’s as simple as that.
Trouble is, I made the bold, some may say stupid, decision to hang up my wine glasses at the beginning of last week – that’s right, around the same time that the schools closed and the latest lockdown began, and therefore the point at which wine consumption probably should have been on the up.
I’m not one for partaking in Dry January or anything like that, January is THE worst time to give up anything that you love, especially a January as dire as this one! No, I simply made the decision to go back on some meds to help me sleep through my leg spasms at night. Unfortunately, this particular drug doesn’t react too well to alcohol, or at least it didn’t last time I was on it 7 + years ago. I rather hastily made the decision to ditch the wine in favour of the drugs. Too hasty. Way too hasty. What I should have done, and what I will now do, is to weigh things up. No decision as important as this one should EVER be made before first looking at the pros and cons.

And so, yesterday evening (4pm is evening, right?) I caved. It had been a tough day. Home-schooling had frazzled the life out of me, and chaos reigned supreme. I needed wine and wine is what I jolly well had.
As a 69 year old male living with MS for 32 years I have found that ‘A little of what you fancy’ goes an awful long way to getting through the day so enjoy your wine!!!!
I’m a born worrier so spent a long time coming to terms myself. Luckily I have a wonderful wife who kicks my backside on occasions. Keep up the blogs please, I really love reading them. Thanks

I find that lots of red wine helps me sleep white wine and any other alcohol affects my medication and I don’t sleep so I’m all for plenty of red wine x
