Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens … This morning as I sat on the bed singing to my children I had an idea for my blog – So, Julie Andrews counts brown paper packages tied up with string among her favourite things, but what are MY favourite things? Or more specifically, what are the favourite things of a typical MSer?
Now, sing with me…
Handrails on stairwells, mobility scooters
Bright remote controls and large screen computers
Crutches and wheelchairs with gadgets that ping
These are a few of my favourite things
Blue badges, free parking, a swanky new car–,
Nurses and Neuros and Doctors who are–,
Experts in MS and all that this brings
These are a few of my favourite things
Slow cooker, dishwasher with e-lectric power,
Washrooms with rails and a nice walk-in shower,
Sofas and armchairs all bouncy with springs
These are a few of my favourite things
When the pain strikes, when the ache stings,
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favourite things
And then I don’t feel so bad.
Fantastic!
